New California Law: As of July 1, 2004, California requires any commercial web site operator collecting personally identifiable information from consumers in California to post a Privacy Policy in a conspicuous location that meets minimum privacy standards. The Privacy Policy must identify what personal information is collected, how it is used, the categories of third parties with whom it might be shared and a description of any available process for consumers to review or request changes to the information collected, a description of the process for notifying consumers of changes in the Privacy Policy and the effective date of the Privacy Policy, among other things.
